Don DeLorenzo has been a Class "A" member of the Professional Golfers
Association of America since 1989. He has been teaching golf since 1977
and has literally taught the south Santa Clara County how to play golf.
His list of students includes professional golfers, accomplished collegiate
players and amateurs as well as advanced junior players and the recreational
golfer. Don`s ability to break down the game in an easy to understand
manner makes him one of the most sought after golf professionals in the county.
Don`s philosophy has always been to emphasize the fundamentals and have fun on
the lesson tee.
Don has been the head PGA Professional at Gilroy Golf Course since 1985.
He is a past recipient of the BIll Strausbaugh award for excellence in education
from the Northern California PGA.
His golf tips articles appear weekly in the Gilroy Dispatch and he has
gathered a true following of students who can now truly play and enjoy the game.
"I believe if it was not for the lessons I took from Don I would have
never qualified for the 2001 Oldsmobile Scramble National Finals as well as win
the Gilroy GC Club Championship in my first attempt." -Dave Bozzo
